Training under this specification will build knowledge and awareness amongst business managers and potential business leaders, instil confidence and develop the interpersonal skills required to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future.

Understanding Accounts and Business Planning

This course is organised by DairyCo and supported by Duchy College Rural Business School. This two-day course at Duchy College, Rosewarne is targeted specifically for:

  • Current dairy farm managers and owners
  • Dairy staff looking to progress into management roles

  • The key fundamentals of running a dairy business
  • Meausuring the profit requirement and business objectives
  • Vital Key Performance Indicators (KPI'S)
  • Establishing a rewarding and viable business plan
  • The Balance Sheet
  • Cashflow
  • Monitoring & Adapting

This course will be led by Tony Evans from The Anderson Centre in Melton Mowbray. Tony has a wealth of experience in agricultural business consultancy, particularly in the dairy sector. He has observed many different systems of milk production and processing methodologies and is very knowledgeable about capital requirement and profit yield from this sector. Tony is a Partner at Anderson's with responsibility for the operation of the specialist diary team. He shares the responsibility for the provision of business information and advice to UK agricultre including, Farmers, Professionals, Corporate suppliers, processors, retailers and government organisations including WAG and DEFRA.

Tony is also an Equity Partner in a contract dairy farm in Leicestershire.

This course is being offered as part of a wider RDPE skills programme and therefore the cost is at a funded rate and dependent on the number of attendees. Lunch and refreshments will be included. Delegates will be invoiced post the first day. The price will be between £79.65 +VAT and £87.90 +VAT according to group size.
