This qualification will appeal to those who use a forklift as part of their work in agriculture, horticulture or distribution and warehousing. This training course is specifically for the rough terrain telescoping forklift truck, known as a Telehandler. This training has been developed to cover 'basic training' requirements of the Approved Code of Practice for Rider Operated Forklift Trucks. This qualification does not replace any legal requirement for a driving licence.

This training course will cover the basic aspects of the Telehandler, as well as the safe operation and maintenance of the machines, including pre-use maintenance and safety checks, recognition of controls and instruments. You will receive practical training on the campus at Stoke Climsland, and drive the telehandler around a suitable course, then move and stack various loads. After training, you will be assessed on a separate day, and this will include one-to-one verbal questioning.

This course is aimed at anyone, particularly those working in the agricultural sector that needs to use a telehandler as part of their work or employment.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive an industry recognised qualification which will prove that you have been trained and assessed to operate a telehandler to safe industry standar
